The Blog

For me, this has been an interesting way to keep the discussion going beyond the walls of the classroom. I've especially liked sitting back, resisting the urge to answer a question, and watch other people volunteer their ideas. I like the idea of using the blog to continue talking about different topics with the sophomores of Montessori. I'm curious about what you think. Please post reflective comments about the process of participating in an online conversation.

i think an online conersation would be good, but you know how other people are. i think keeping it like this is better.

This was a great idea. This way people can get different views of the book and get their questions answered easily. I personally like this because now it is almost impossible to miss a homework. Note how I said almost.

I agree with Kerri. When everyone is typing their answers and posting it up, it allows everyone's opinion to be heard, and not just the louder ones in the classroom. Since this is homework, everyone will (should) be on here at some point, and be able to write thoughts (relative to the subject)that appear suddenly in their minds, pehaps sparked by another post. Maybe someone might add more to their post another time when something they couldn't explain appears in someone else's post.

i think the blog is a good idea. With the blog you get out your ideas about the book in writing so everyone can hear what you have to say. Sometimes group conversations can be dominated by one or two people, so most people cannot express the way you are feeling. the blog is a way to not only get your ideas across but also respond and generate new questions to talk about. Although i think the blog is a great idea, there is something to be said about having a one on one conversation withh someone, and that small aspect is lost with the blog.

having a blog is a good idea. It makes life so much more easier for us. We can look at other people blogs and that can spark other ideas in our mind we can express through blogging

The blog idea was well worked out, alot of students are on the internet alot afterschool any way so when they are there they can do there homework. The only down side to the whole process was the fact that some people had to wait until the next day to get access to the internet in school.

I really like the idea of this blog, because its more easier then writing it down on paper, and forgetting to show your hw to the teacher. I got the internet now, and I enjoy being on the computer, so its fun that we can do our hw online =]

I agree Mrs. Mayo, instead of giving out homework, wasting time on papers and checking of someones work for grammer, spelling and other stuff, you can do the homeworks online. Like my friends, they go online everyday and checking out their conversation and doing their homework everyday. My friends love to go online and talk to their friends online. Online is so much easier than, bringing the paper and soon find out that you lost it and had to start all over. It's very hard to do that again. Your idea of writing the blog was amazing. It's so good because you can see that people are doing their homeworks online. I hope you will keep on going with these homework online.
